Purium’s Business Model: 100% transparency

I value building trust with my community more than anything. So I am going to be 100% transparent. I absolutely understand the hesitancy around the network marketing model. When we hear the word ‘MLM’, the next words that follow are ‘scam', ‘salesy’, etc. I totally get it because I thought the same way.

Then I heard the whole story of Purium. I always start with the person behind the company, the founder, Dave Sandoval. He personally got on the phone with me and answered all my meticulous questions. Our conversation was well over an hour. He’s not a typical CEO, but someone who simply loves humanity, nature, and justice. We talked about surfing, structured water, topsoil, horses, Ann Wigmore, farmers, formulation, etc. We had so much in common, including core values. passion, and wellness trainings. He told me how he started the company, who he is, all the slotting fees just to have Purium’s products visible on the higher shelf in the grocery store, and why he decided to follow the network business model… Whether we like to admit it or not, we are all in the system. Certain systems, like Amazon or affiliates, are just more normalized and buffered but if we unpack it, it’s a different story.

To be honest, I do not participate in the business side. My passion is in educating about their health benefits, their sourcing, and how it’s making the world a better place, period. The business model that Purium has chosen has its valid reasons. It may not be ‘attractive’ but their quality cannot be compared to other MLM model supplement companies, that’s for sure. It’s like one of my best friends. When people see us, they don’t understand how we are friends. The way she dresses, her music choice, places she likes to go, etc., compared to mine, it seems like we have nothing in common. But in the end, we get each other, we are there for each other, and we love each other for who each person is. I think that’s more important than anything else.

The bottom line is that I’ve chosen Purium based on my own values and critical thinking. When I think about how American food got to be so deadly, and how we can fix it, I realize this business model can be incredibly powerful when we use it for a good cause.

REALITY:

  • Almost 75% of Americans are overweight

  • Americans are the most medicated nation in human history

  • The USA has the most expensive ‘health’ care system.

ROOT CAUSE:

  • One major root cause is the food.

  • 99% of animals come from factory farming

  • The USA is the largest user of glyphosate. Our land, soils, and the food we consume is filled with this toxin linked to leaky gut, numerous cancers, reproductive, pediatric, neurological disease and liver and kidney damage, and the list goes on.

MICROMANAGING IS NOT THE SOLUTION:

Every health and wellness conference I attend is overanalyzing to the smallest details, with new health trends, new detox kits, new protocols, new research studies, yet they can’t seem to see the forest. This micromanaging, case by case is just too slow compared to the wildfire speed of our health and environmental crisis.

INCLUSIVITY IS THE SOLUTION:

So, yes, Purium is MLM and I am using it as a proactive movement to educate as many people as possible to heal themselves, escape the large corporation traps (imagine how many people are purchasing supplements from Amazon, how many supplement companies are owned by Nestle and pharmaceutical companies), reduce plastic pollution, and restore our soils.

And if along the way, if you want to share with others and be prosperous, that’s great, too. But I personally do not get on the business side.  My passion is in science and education.

FOCUSing ON THE CORE MISSION:

It’s also natural to be apprehensive when we have had bad experiences or heard bad stories. What I encourage you to do is to get to know the person behind the company, their story, journey, and what they are truly focusing on. This is what I did. I talked to the founder, learned about his story, why and how he built the company, how he treats his employees and colleagues, his passion for health, for autism, regenerative soils, and Mother Nature. And this was nothing like any other companies I’ve known or heard of. I probably won’t join any other MLM companies in the future. But I’m with Purium for a good reason, I love their products, I love that I am supporting farmers, I understand their formulation, and most importantly, our missions are aligned. Probably one of the most important missions I can participate in.
